Elsadene Becker

Our beloved mother, Elsadene Becker, of Selma,California died on Thursday, August 14,2014, She was 72. Elsadene was born to Jesse and Raime Davenport on September 14,1941 in Oklahoma. She attended Delhi Elementary School and Delhi High School. In 1963 she graduated from California State University,Stanislaus with a B.A. in the Humanities and a teaching credential. The same year she married Robert Winston Becker. Together they had three children, Robert,Katherine and Philip. Also beginning in 1963 she taught in the Selma School District and had fond memories of her fifth grade class at Indianola Elementary. At Cathedral Christian School she dedicated herself to Christian Education and was particularly proud of her high success rate teaching Kindergarteners to read at First- and Second grade levels. A beautiful soul, our mother's wisdom and love were prized by her children. She will be sorely missed. Elsadene is survived by her husband Robert and her three children. A memorial service will be held and the San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nell,California on Friday, August 22.2014 at 11AM. Memorial donations may be made in Elsadene's name to the Internaional Fellowship of Christians and Jews
