Fresno- Hettie Elizabeth Combs went to be with her heavenly Father July 12, 2022, she was 86.

Born to Arlan & Nancy (Maddins) Amburgey in the hills of Amburgey, Kentucky, Knotts County: Out of 13 children, she was the oldest of the 3 surviving children. Her father was a coal miner (died of Black lungs), and her mother was hospitalized when Hettie was 10, she then went into foster care. She was raised by 2 Baptist missionary ladies that made a huge impact in her life. She left home at 16 years old to live with her aunt in Cincinnati, OH, where 2 years later she met her future husband in a traveling tent revival.

She married Rev. Daniel E. Combs on October 30, 1953, and they both impacted many lives throughout their ministries. Pennsylvania, Florida, New York and California were some of the places they pastored and lead many people to Christ. She loved praying for others, keeping a prayer journal, was a great listener and would counsel those who wanted it. She loved to cook and never used a recipe, she made everyone who came to her home feel so welcome, and she enjoyed watching sports especially her children and grandchildren. She became a pillar to her church family but was so much more to her children and their families. Her love for her family was so strong, she always said she wants to see them in heaven.
