Mary Hernandez went home to be with the Lord and Savior on October 31, 2023.
She was 84 years old. Mary was born on April 20, 1939, In Merced, California to Ricardo and Feliciana Silva. Mary’s last residence was in Selma for 46 years. Mary was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. Mary was best known for her love and kindness and for always extending a helpful hand to everyone she came in contact with.
Mary loved her job of teaching. She was a teacher's aide for Dinuba Schools and Reedley High School.
Mary was a devout Catholic and she served her church as a Catechism Teacher. She taught at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church while her children were attending Catechism and she continued to teach at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church when she moved to Selma.
Mary is preceded in death by her Father Ricardo Silva, Mother Feliciana Quesada, Sister, Lucy Silva, Brother Richard Silva, Sister Marina Barrios, Daughter Lucy Ochoa. Granddaughter Belinda Garcia and Great Granddaughter Rianna Pacheco.
Mary is survived by her sister Lilly Jasso, her 6 children, Daughter Diane/Leopoldo Garcia, Son Manuel/Karen Madrid, Daughter Angela/Monica Madrid, Son Tony/Lydia Vargas, Son Luis Hernandez, Jr., Son Richard Hernandez, 13 Grandchildren,15 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild, many nephews, Nieces and Friends.
